Dawn Stone Mullin
Dawn is extremely honored to have been chosen as the 2023 REALTOR® of the Year!
Born and raised in Chicago, Dawn grew up listening to her father structure commercial real estate deals. Her passion and talents were focused on being an athlete. As a highly accomplished figure skater and Gold level ice dancer, she transferred those skills to become a PSIA Certified Ski Instructor at the age of 19. Knowing the dedication and commitment necessary to achieve success, Dawn put her passions on hold and attended Miami University’s School of Business in Oxford, Ohio, graduating with a degree in Marketing and Management with emphasis in Pre-Law. After a brief career in sales, her love for skiing led her to become Co-Director of a Wisconsin ski school - ironically now owned by Vail Resorts. A year later, she was offered a position at the Vail/Beaver Creek Ski School and, in 1982, made a life-changing move.
In 1988, Dawn joined the family legacy and obtained her real estate license. Shortly after, she earned her Employing Broker’s License. Continuing to strive to offer the highest level of professional expertise to her clients, she completed 10 additional national and international advanced certifications and designations. This includes the revered Vail Pro Designation where she is one of only 40 recipients out of over 800 local REALTORS®. To Dawn, it’s more than the additional education and achievements: it’s about bringing a preeminent set of skills and tools that ultimately benefit her clients. Her deep-rooted desire to exceed their expectations and provide the best experience possible is recognized and reinforced by their trust, loyalty and continuous referrals being a significant part of her esteemed reputation and outstanding success as a top broker.
Dawn’s unwavering dedication to her clients is greatly enhanced by her years of extensive experience and deep market knowledge. Never losing sight of her client’s objectives, she facilitates the accomplishment of their goals by often thinking outside of the expected process, supporting and encouraging positive negotiations, and never giving up. Highly respected by her peers and the desire to work with her, Dawn’s tremendous ability to connect with others and be an effective communicator creates a Win-Win atmosphere resulting in success.
Volunteering well over a thousand hours to non-profit organizations and local schools speaks to Dawn’s dedication and commitment to the community and her profession. Spearheading fundraising initiatives exemplifies her willingness to take on challenging situations knowing the outcomes will benefit others. In addition to serving as a Director for the Vail Board of REALTORS®, she just finished her 4th term as Chair for the Vail Board of REALTORS® Foundation where she provided new direction with a goal-oriented focus. She was instrumental in the development and implementation of a scholarship program for local students as well as secured a unique Playhouse that is now a permanent educational feature at the Betty Ford Alpine Gardens. She also serves on the Board of Directors for the Colorado Association of REALTORS® Foundation and the Parent Advisory Council for California Polytechnic State University/SLO. The devotion and determination of her energy and perseverance has impacted many lives and organizations. As in seeking success for her clients, when she’s told “no”, she asks “how”.
Dawn deeply values relationships and has an innate gift to connect with whoever she meets and, in turn, loves helping connect others. Walk with her and you’ll be introduced to long-time locals as well as visitors from around the world. It’s clear, she’s touched many lives and there’s no question, she treasures friendships. Having experienced so much of the Vail Valley’s history, she welcomes the opportunity to share its stories, the Lifestyle, favorite “local” insights, and to learn about your interests, passions and what makes you smile.
